Two Kinds Of Grandmothers

15.  There are grandmas and THERE ARE GRANDMAS. Grandma Cardwell was a kid grandma—not like Grandma Neely who I was never sure liked kids. It’s strange for she had ten of her own while Grandma Cardwell had only six.   Well --  seven  if you counted  Aunt Lily. Grandma Cardwell (whom we called Granny) was first married to Sam Davis. In some argument , which I will talk about later, Sam was killed in an ax attack. Granny later married James Anderson Cardwell with whom she had her six children.
The two Grandmas were not on intimate terms. Although three of the Neely children married three of the Cardwell children family events were attended by both Grandmas.  Tomorrow I will report a story which honors  Grandma Cardwell.
